Assist Clients With Medication
This recertification training and assessment course covers the knowledge and skills required by care or support workers to assist clients with medication.
The unit addresses the provision of physical assistance with medication or supporting clients with self medication.
Topics include: monitoring the client and management of contingencies, medication side effects, storage and infection control and working within your job role.
Content and assessment reflect the principles of the Active Service Model (ASM) and client centred care and the community care environment.
Participants are required to attend two practical workshops and complete the online theory component.
Please note: It is a requirement that you need to attend Day 1 and Day 2 workshops.
Please note this is a REFRESHER training course.
The course provides participants with any important changes and updates and an opportunity to reinforce previously acquired knowledge and skills.
Delivery Requirements for recertification in CHCCS305C Assist clients with medication
All participants must complete:
<li> Class Room Recertification Training & Assessment Session (6 hours)</li>
<li> Medication Annual Skills Assessment</li>
<li> Essential knowledge and practical competency assessment</li>
<li> Workplace Medication Annual Skills Assessment.
Please note: Classroom simulation does not satisfy the Assessment Criteria for this Recertification
What you need to know...
This program is suitable for people who have previously gained a Statement of Attainment for the Unit – Assist Clients with Medication [CHCCS305A, B or C] and are required to maintain currency.
Course participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance in recognition of their reconfirmation of te essential knowledge and competency.
